FWS Class Looks at Languedoc and Rousillon
As a part of the French Wine Society (FWS) study classes at Le Caille, we studied the Languedoc and Roussillon area of Southern France.
These areas have been making wine since hundred of years before the current era. Today they produce wine from a wide variety of grapes in 25 AOCs (12 in Languedoc and 13 in Rousillon.) In fact the sparkling wines of Blanquette de Limoux predates Dom Perignon by 150 years!
We had several wines from the area that are available in local State Package stores. Most of them are still affordable as well as delicious.
