French Wine Scholar
The French Wine Scholar Study and Certification program provides current, accurate and in-depth information on the wines and wine regions of France.
Developed and administrated by the Wine Scholar Guild™ with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, this specialization program is designed for advanced students of wine, whether professionals or serious wine hobbyists.
Students of wine who follow this in-depth curriculum and pass the exam will earn the French Wine Scholar (FWS) post-nominal.

The French Wine Scholar Program covers French wine law, grape varieties, viticulture, wine-making and all of the French wine regions including Jura, Savoie and Corsica. This core body of knowledge is important whether you sell wine, buy wine or teach about wine. Even if you are merely curious or a serious collector.
French Wine Scholar Classes are offered by licensed program providers and delivered by an approved Wine Scholar Guild™ instructor, Sheral Schowe.
The live classroom study format includes:

- Exam Site

Our Fall 2016 FWS is scheduled to start September 27, 2016 and will run on 12 consecutive Tuesdays: 6-9PM

Please note: Taking the Certification exam is not required. It is provided for those who have a reason and benefit from the post-nominal certification, for instance those in the food and wine industry in some capacity. Many of our scholars take the classes for the information alone and the chance to thoroughly understand the special wines of the area. They may be merely curious, many are serious collectors.
