Students of wine who follow this in-depth curriculum and pass the exam will earn the French Wine Scholar (FWS) post-nominal.
Set yourself apart from your peers. Specialize in the wines of France!
Become a French Wine Scholar!
The French Wine Scholar Program covers French wine law, grape varieties, viticulture, wine-making and all of the French wine regions including Jura, Savoie and Corsica. This core body of knowledge is important whether you sell wine, buy wine or teach about wine. Even if you are merely curious or a serious collector.
French Wine Scholar Classes are offered by licensed program providers and delivered by an approved Wine Scholar Guild™ instructor, Sheral Schowe.
The live classroom study format includes:
- Tutored Tastings
- Access to the complete FWS E-Learning online Package
- Exam Site
Please note: Taking the Certification exam is not required. It is provided for those who have a reason and benefit from the post-nominal certification, for instance those in the food and wine industry in some capacity. Many of our scholars take the classes for the information alone and the chance to thoroughly understand the special wines of the area. They may be merely curious, many are serious collectors.
